Show of hands

Remember when your parents told you (probably on multiple occasions) that you weren't allowed to play with "that Mentzer kid"?

Just think how sorry those people felt for your little sister!

You mean because of her mental problems? Yes, they used to ask about "that poor little thing" all the time.

Here is one of my favorite Ramey memories: Cindy and I were on the swingset in Grandma's back yard. You came along with cookies for each of us that you said your mother had baked. I thought it was uncharacteristically "nice" of you but I ate the cookie anyhow. (Surprise, surprise) Right after eating you cackled "Ha, ha. Dad just fertilized the yard and I rolled the cookies in the fertilizer" All day long I waited to keel over, just like Snow White did after she ate the poisoned apple.

Hah! I forgot about that! Remember when I wrapped up the box of daddy longlegs and gave it to you guys? We were on Grandma's back porch. Cindy opened the box, they started crawling out, and you both freaked.

Hi everyone,

One of my memories is Raymond out in his back yard running through the sprinkler with a umbrella when his dad came out and all most killed him. He had just spent all this money on Raymond's ears.

I have a ton of great memories of Grandma King's backyard. I don't remember the poison cookie incident, but when you lived with Ray, it was something new every day! I loved the backyard and all Grandma's flowers, swinging on the swing set and the big maple tree. Sometimes I still dream about being there.

I don't remember the box of Daddy Longlegs. I was probably so traumatized that I suppressed it in my memory.

I agree, Cindy. We spent a lot of time in that backyard and it was always a peaceful, fun place to play.
